The Start

The purchase of a group of horses in March 1999 gave us the necessary motivation to organize a public sale, which is something we had always aspired to.

In the first instance there were naturally one or two doubts but the decision was made and the first steps were taken. Our first auction took place on 25th March 1999. It was an enormous success, people were very enthusiastic, and the atmosphere was wonderful, the horses sold easily and the new owners were happy. Everything was so positive that we said to ourselves "This is something which we must continue and expand upon" whilst following two conditions:

  • 1. Adaptation of our accommodation.
  • 2. A plan with a very clear philosophy.

1. The accommodation:
Our new building was completed in 2001.

2. The plan:
The plan came to us through the merging of several objectives.

  • Everything must naturally sit well with us but on a greater scale.
  • The aspiration to always radiate quality.
  • Looking to the long term with an annual event.
  • Using our own strengths, young horses showing a lot of promise for the future.

With these perspectives in mind we made our name E.F.S.

Eurohorse Future Sales

The philosophy behind this name is:

Eurohorse

This stands for the 'open' thoughts behind the EFS, the introduction of horses descended from Europe's top sires out of Europe's Top damlines, coming from Europe's top breeding territories, selected out of our own youngstock and also from the youngstock of our European colleagues and private individuals.

Future

Stands for the contents of the collection of E.F.S. horses. A group of young horses with great future potential. Potential stallions, potential sporting stars and top class breeding material.

Sales

This stands for the E.F.S. way of selling, "the public sale". Yourself as the client have a choise out of a very carefully selected collection. You can make what you consider to be a suitable bid for the appropriate horse. We see it as a task to always work openly. We also provide all the necessary information, health information (x rays), character, quality, future potential etc. Our objective is: "You must be able to buy what you think you are buying in all good faith".
